About Central Wyoming Counseling Center

Central Wyoming Counseling Center is a comprehensive Community Mental Health and Substance Abuse Treatment Center that was founded in 1959 as a Wyoming not for profit corporation. It is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of twelve citizens who are elected to three year terms.

From its rather small beginning in 1959 as a largely volunteer operated mental health clinic, the Center has grown into a comprehensive Mental Health and Substance Abuse Treatment Center that offers a wide variety of specialized programs and services.

The Center currently has a staff of over 70 licensed or certified Mental Health and Substance Abuse treatment professionals, nurses, physicians, psychiatrists, as well as over 25 clerical staff, residential staff, and therapeutic treatment homes.

With this staff the Center operates five major programs consisting of Outpatient Mental Health Treatment Services, Outpatient Substance Abuse Treatment Services, Therapeutic Family Care and Wrap-Around Treatment Services, Psychiatric Rehabilitation Treatment Services, and Residential Substance Abuse Treatment Facilities.

Certifications of Interest held by CWCC
CARF Accreditation (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities)
CARF reviews and grants accreditation services nationally and internationally on request of a facility or program. CARF standards are rigorous, so those institutions which meet the requirements are among the best available.
HIPAA Compliant (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act)
A Federal Law that gives patients greater access to their own medical records and more control over how their personally identifiable health information is used.

The regulation also addresses the obligations of healthcare providers and health plans to protect health information. In general, covered entities such as health plans, healthcare clearinghouses, and healthcare providers which conduct certain financial and administrative transactions electronically had until April 14, 2003, to comply.

Central Wyoming Counseling Center is a State of Wyoming certified provider of Substance Abuse Treatment Services.
State of Wyoming Department of Family Services Certification
Central Wyoming Counseling Center is a State of Wyoming certified Child Placing Agency as well as a approved Therapeutic Foster Care Facility.
