Job Description: Clinical Therapist / Substance Abuse Professional

PROGRAM: Substance Abuse Program - Outpatient Program
TITLE: Clinical Therapist / Substance Abuse Professional
DESCRIPTION:
Responsibilities include substance abuse evaluations and provision of individual, family and group therapy services. Applicants for clinical therapist positions must be credentialed by the State of Wyoming in one of the following areas: Licensed Addictions Therapist, Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Certified Addictions Practitioner, or Certified Addictions Practitioner Assistant. Provisional status is acceptable.
REQUIREMENTS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1Knowledge of the American Society of Addictions Medicine’s most current system for determining the appropriate treatment modality for substance abuse clients.
2Ability to administer standardized assessment tools as assigned, including the ASI, GAIN, and SASSI.
3As the primary therapist, develop a comprehensive individual treatment plan for all clients assigned.
4Provide individual, group and family therapy services.
5Provide Intensive Outpatient Program services as assigned.
6Use accepted and standard practices in the treatment of specific diagnoses.
7Provide clients with case management services, including consultation with probation authorities and others involved in the recovery process.
8Have adequate knowledge of community resources and make appropriate referrals to address the needs of clients.
9Maintain strict confidentiality of client files and reports as stated in 42 CFR, Part 2.
10Document all services within CWCC timelines, using existing data-entry system.
11Maintain positive working relationships with professionals in the community.
12Provide after-hours on-call services to clients of the Outpatient Program. Provide clinical supervision to students and provisional licensees as assigned.
13Provide clinical supervision to students and provisional licensees as assigned.
14Must possess adequate computer skills.
15Must abide by both the agency and license code of ethics.
16Assist with CWCC quality assurance program as assigned.
17Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor, the Program Manager or by the Executive Director.
