Unlike our Youth & Family Services, which focus primarily on the needs of young people, our Adult Behavioral Health Services take a look at a patient’s life from all levels of adulthood.
Adult Behavioral Health Services offer innovative treatment approaches to support patients through major and minor life concerns with the goal of helping them achieve a greater level of life satisfaction for many years to come.
We offer:
Behavioral Health
Help with everything from daily stress to interventions for individuals, couples, or families experiencing intense or on-going challenges.
Behavioral Health Outpatient Treatment
Individual and group counseling/therapy services are offered at the agency and in the community.
Services address issues including:
- Depression
- Anxiety
- Eating issues
- Postpartum depression
- Wellness
- Self-esteem
- Grief
- And other behavioral health issues
Individual and group counseling/therapy services are offered at the agency and in the community.
Intensive Outpatient Treatment
Clients participating in our Intensive Outpatient Treatment can maintain daily life activities while also being involved in individual and group counseling/therapy services.
Services address issues including:
- Eating disorders
- Depression
- Self harm
- Substance use disorders
Sub-Acute Residential Treatment (SART)
Individuals receiving SART services are seen by a psychiatric prescriber who may prescribe and adjust medications as needed during their stay.
SART services are appropriate for:
- Diversion from inpatient admission
- Step-down from a higher level of care
- Psychiatric support
Individuals appropriate for the SART level of care experience severe depression, thoughts of suicide, or psychotic symptoms, and may also have co-occurring substance related diagnoses.
Addiction Treatment
Outpatient and relapse prevention treatment that is individualized and appropriate to the intensity of each specific addiction, as well as to each patient’s situation.
Addiction Outpatient Treatment
Our treatment services may include:
- Individual therapy
- Group therapy
- Family support
- Relapse prevention
Individual and group therapy is typically followed by a tailored relapse prevention program.
Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT)
MAT is provided for individuals who are addicted to opiates, both prescribed medications and street opiates. This federally-funded program offers counseling and medications, when needed, to assist individuals to stop their opiate use.
Substance Abuse Residential Treatment Services
Our substance abuse residential treatment facility
has 68 beds and provides treatment to:
- Adult men and women
- Women with children
- Pregnant women (including adolescents)
We offer:
- Evaluations
- We utilize a various evaluation measures, depending on client needs: Addiction Severity Index (ASI) Evaluation, American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) Evaluation, Bio-psychosocial Assessment, Withdrawal Assessment, and Initial Intake Assessment
- Jail Based Services
- Our services within the jail offer a broad range of symptom management for serious mental illness (and sobriety—for clients with coexisting substance abuse and/or dependence), activities for daily living, and social activities for those incarcerated at Natrona County Detention Center

- Individuals receiving SART services are seen by a psychiatric prescriber who may prescribe and adjust medications as needed during their stay.
- Individuals appropriate for the SART level of care experience severe depression, thoughts of suicide, or psychotic symptoms, and may also have co-occurring substance related diagnoses.
Psychiatric Medicine
Services provided as an adjunct to our therapy services. Clients who are actively engaged in therapy can use Central providers for medication monitoring and management.
Pharmacy
An on-site Genoa pharmacy and pharmacist are available to support and complement any primary healthcare need, as well as psychiatric need. The Genoa pharmacy offers the ability to fill all medications, including from primary care or outside prescribers, giving clients peace of mind, knowing that prescriptions are filled with an eye to their overall health.
Genoa’s Hours of Operation are:
- Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Closed 12:00 p.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Medical Monitoring
Healthcare professionals at Central bridge the gap between psychiatric health and physical health by conducting exams and partnering with the appropriate healthcare practice needed for the clients wellbeing. Clients receive direct attention from on-site prescribers and nurses to ensure that their medications are effective and safe.
Residential Services

Our most intensive level of treatment services for any adult or adolescent in need of 24/7 care and treatment in a state-of-the-art residential, comfortable, safe, and nurturing environment.
Social Detox Services
Our Social Detoxification Unit (SDU) is a non-medical residential therapeutic environment for alcohol and/or drug withdrawal. Our trained staff helps with the social components of withdrawing from addictive substances. After a successful social detox, clients will receive an assessment and personalized recommendations for long-term solutions to their recovery.
Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU)
A community-based alternative to hospitalization, this intensive, short-term structured environment supports the safe resolution of problems, such as:
- Uncontrollable behavior
- Suicidal ideation
- Moderate psychosis
The goal is to bring rapid stabilization to community return, quickly and at a higher functioning level than at pre-crisis.
